December 27, 2002, Newsletter Issue #30: Carbohydrate Counting

Tip of the Week

Carbohydrate counting is a method of eating that includes counting carbohydrate choices. One carbohydrate choice is equal to 15 grams of carbohydrate. Carbohydrates have the greatest immediate effect on blood glucose (sugar), so controlling the amount eaten can help with glucose control. Check with a registered dietician.
